I'm sure it's not easy to work with psychiatric patience but from my experience with a loved one who went there, this place is a joke. No real care for the patient -- (I don't mean human caring, although there was very little of that either) but no real care for his psychiatric condition. They drugged him hard so he was good and dopey and dropped him off home - and without any refills on prescriptions. Never mind what happens to him on the outside seeing that he's nowhere near well. Not a drop of care took place - not that I saw anyway.
I was frustrated with lack of basic things like:
1. a promised available bed. The E.R. in Daytona was told there was a bed for me. However, after a 3 hour transport, I arrived and spent 2 days in intake. I had to sleep in a hospital gown on a broken recliner. Some males w. ere sleeping on cots. Sheriff's brought males in who were violent and angry and I was frightened. I was not given my medication.
The staff is amazing. They are genuine, caring, understanding, and helpful to the best of their ability. The food is pretty good, considering it's a hospital. The beds could be more comfortable, but it's not a hotel. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this facility.
I was admitted on a baker actcon Thursday evening. Yes, I did spend a little bit of time in admissions but I was very well taken care of. From he moment I was finally admitted to the time I was discharged I was taken care of better then I ever thought I would have been. My psychiatrist was amazing, the nursing staff was amazing and every tech I came in contact with were some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Any of my required needs were always taken care of, they looked out for me the entire time I was there and I could not have asked for a better experience. The staff that I encountered are the reason I was able to walk out of there when I did. Now don't get me wrong I don't want to have to wind up going back but this amazing group of medical professionals are the reason I am home and continuing the treatment I need. So thank you to everyone for being as supportive as you were. You will all hold a dear place in my heart.
I was baker acted spent a few days in this great hospital. Bc of the great staff im finally feeling more myself than i have in a long time. These are truely great people that care. They will always have a spot in my heart
2.After being admitted I was not provided a rules and regulations book, so I had no idea what was expecexpected of me.
