I have mixed feelings about this place. The manager is fantastic and will be completely honest a be straight with you about all prices and he will make sure your car is spotless before you get in, in fact upon return I actually washed my car the first time we rented from him because he was so amazing. However one year later, we rent from another girl who at first seemed amazing, super sweet and easy to converse with. It wasn't until we left that we found our bill was higher than it should've been. See we paid ahead, no problems there, then added the Liability Damage Waiver which covers only the car, again no problems with that, but this time we wanted Sirius satellite radio. She didn't exactly tell us a price, but she said it would only be about 20 bucks extra. At the time of rental we trusted her because she was so easy to talk to and seemed trustworthy, but what she didn't mention was that it's $20 per 5-day week. Our rental was for 10 days, which she knew because our reservation with right in front of here with the prices for it. She knew it was going to be a $40 charge and said nothing. I personally have Sirius radio in my car and would've gladly taken the radio out of my car with a little bit of effort to pull out the antenna wire I have routed under the back floor and up the side to the hatch if we had known the price was $40 instead of $20. Also, the first time we rented from hertz the manager said the car was being cleaned as we were filling out paperwork, I assumed by the Ford detail team (since the location is inside Autonation Ford) which gave us a spotless car, however this time the lady told us they had to clean it themselves, and the other guy there was cleaning the windows. But when we got home to pack up the car we realized just how dirty the car was, the windows were awful it looked like a kid or a dog had been wiping their hands or face all over the windows, so I had to clean the windows and fabreeze the entire car since it smelled. When we returned the car we spoke with the manager who happened to be there by himself, and we told him how the radio cost was twice what we thought, $4 per day for anyone wondering, and that the windows were extremely dirty. He took care of the extra costs and took off even more due to the windows being dirty. I didn't expect all of that, I just expected the cost of the radio to be reduced since we were misled. I work in the vehicle rental industry and I understand how hard it is since I am normal schedules by myself and must clean all the vehicles myself, but the most important thing to me is windows, since you HAVE to look through it to be aware of your surroundings. I appreciate the managers positive attitude and upfront manner. Please beware of what you're getting into when renting anything! I do it for a living, and although I am like the manager at Hertz and am very upfront with all charges, not all companies are like that. Read ALL contracts and go over every charge before giving any sort of money whether it be cash, debit or credit card, or check. And make sure you understand everything you're getting into before you SIGN anything. Lesson learned, we won't be caught in this situation again.
Got a great price easy to rent from amazing customer service & a beautiful car!!
We rented a Nissan Quest from this Hertz when we got there we were told our car was all cleaned up and ready for our trip to Boston. As we got into our trip the next day we all were commenting that the car was vibrating and loud, there was some construction so we thought that was the problem. We continued on our trip after all it was a 2017 with 22000 miles on it what could be wrong. We had our visit and continued to use the car all week and the vibration continued. Finally on the way home to Florida we got through NYC and down the NJ Turnpike when the car swerved and my husband yelled He struggled to hold the car still and avoided all of the 18 wheelers on the highway, Luckily we were about a mile from the very last rest area on the turnpike. My husband thinking it was a nail or something talked to the mechanics. The mechanic took the wheel of and said omg look at this...you could see the steel belts exposed on the side of the tire. He told us the car was way out of alignment and that's what caused this wear. One tire needed to be replaced now and the second very soon but we SHOULD make it home. We called Hertz because there was only a donut on the car, no spare. The rep asked if we were okay...then began the royal runaround....He wanted us to call our triple A to put the donut on and drive back to Philadelphia to exchange the car for another and we were to make sure our cars gas was topped off...of course this was 9PM on Saturday and no Hertz would be opened until Monday. It was just ridiculous they put our lives in serious jeopardy and they wanted us to do all work for them, it just would not work for us. We purchased a new tire and have been assured we would be reimbursed, we'll see. BTW on our way home the warning light came on indicating the second rear tire was bad.We are keeping the tire as evidence just in case....THEY PUT MY FAMILY'S LIVES IN JEOPARDY AND THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. Getting ready to return this car to Hertz Brooksville and my husband took pictures of all tires...the two pictures are of the other rear tire we drove from NJ to FL on.
They tell you one price over the phone then raise it when you get there. Reserve one Vehicle and they will always try to give you something different. I prepaid for gas and was told I still had to fill up the tank upon return. This place will nickle and dime you every chance they get.
I suggest talking to Jose at Avis in New Port Richey for fair honest pricing. I booked an SUV but they didn't have any. He apologized and put me in a new Cadillac. Thats good business
Billed almost $40 in tolls a month ago which Normally cost me around $10. Rented again a couple of weeks ago & decided NOT to use toll roads yet still billed toll charges.
My 1st visit was pleasant due to 2 extremely polite & helpful gentleman (Hertz employee's). I was unable to complete the rental that day because I didn't have enough $ on my card. No worries....I was reassured that I would have a car waiting the next morning. My 2nd visit was successful but hectic & a little aggravating. Originally, renting for 5 day's I was assured as long as I called them I wouldn't have any problems keeping the car longer. WRONG! HAVE YOU EVER BEEN HUNTED? WELL, I HAVE BY HERTZ. Yes, it's the truth . I have pictures to prove it . "A recovery team" as they call it showed up at my hotel & didn't stop for 5 day's. Followed me to PCB, 2 hotel's, daughter's school, my storage unit, McDonald's, friends home, son's home, even continued to hound me after returning the car. Followed me on my 2 Greyhound bus rides, followed me across the state of Florida, several times scaring my daughter & I so much I called the police 2x. Hertz returned the money that was put on hold the day I rented the car, 3 day's into the rental. I don't understand this nor do I feel the actions taken by this company was required. Their actions were dileberate, wreckless, careless, unprofessional, unnecessary, dangerous & costly. To make matters worse...Hertz expects me to assume responsibility for those costs. My nightmare hasn't ended. As I review Hertz am being followed by "a recovery team". My husband & I both placed daily calls to Hertz management & recovery customer service. Asking them to please stop! First, they stated this was not behavior they taught, supported or tolerated. The next conversation was entirely different. As my nighmare continues I will update my review. Please pray for my daughter & my safety.
