Melissa, our server, earned the designation as "our favorite waitress" and cemented it during the event. She is an amazingly warm and friendly person adding to the charm of the restaurant.
We love the food during normal hours and the ambiance is classic small town Florida- friendly where many people know each other. This is the best place to eat in Brooksville in my honest opinion.
Rising Sun handled my daughter's Sweet 16 last week and did an excellent job! Catherine, the owner, handled the details and made the event so easy for us. She had fair pricing and it was a dream come true for my daughter.
I'm in love with this place. Great for a casual lunch or a large birthday dinner. I've done both and they always have good service and delicious healthy food! And it's beautiful inside.
The food and drink were very good and extremely reasonably priced. I've never paid only $3 for a decent beer on tap. We shared Fried Green Tomatoes and the Fig and Blue Cheese Flatbread with onion bacon jam and balsamic vinegar. Both delicious and great presentation.
One of the worst meals I've had in a while. I don't care about the atmosphere of a restaurant. I want good food and service. Which this place is seriously lacking. The tea was gross. The cheese on my sons grilled cheese wasn't even melted. Some of the fries were not even cooked all the way. And tasted like cardboard. Wanted a burger, they had no buns left. Got the Cobb salad, which was eh. The turkey on it was slimy and didn't taste well. Our waitress was nice but sucked. Idk how many times this other waitress came to our table trying to give us other peoples food. Took our waitress 20 minutes to come back for check with money in it. Definitely won't be back.
Great food, great atmosphere, not perfect service (unless you are lucky enough to have the owner!)
Wow! What a nice place! It looks very nice on the outside, but you don't expect what you walk into. Giant room with super high old time tin ceilings and the room is filled with tables and chairs with bench seating with all kinds of pillows along the two long walls. Really nicely decorated. The place gives you a really nice mix of comfort mixed with upscale.
I'll make a point to stop in the next time I'm in, or passing thru, Brooksville.
The service was great...everyone extremely friendly and down to earth. The owner stopped by our table several times even tho they suddenly got a very large unexpected crowd shortly after we arrived. Our service didn't suffer AT ALL!
